The reason I am starting a blog is because I am working on a 30k Iron Hands army and wanted to document my progress and thoughts related to this project.
Ah, the Iron Xth, a bunch of psycho cyber men dick kickers with daddy issues. Originally one of the most powerful Astartes Legions, the Iron Xth are some of the most unhinged protagonists in 30k. Right up there with Angron's unwanted sons or Fulgrim's boyfriends.
I actually think that the Iron Hands are the biggest psycho's in 30k but more on that another time.
And why do they call to me? The aesthetic and their story. I went to Warhammer World and saw the Medusan Immortals, Mk3 vets and the Gorgon Terminators and thought they were just epically 'metal'.

And the Hands story is just so appealing.
The no nonsense 'we are here to kick some dicks and then just fuck off to savage some other people' is awesome. But combine this with the 'there's really something not quite right with your boys dead Ferrus. There's more than 1 or 2 screws loose in them and we aren't quite sure what to do' thing and you have one of the coolest, most complex Legions. Well that's what I think anyway.
And don't get me started on Ferrus. At once a badass mother of a Primarch, master strategist, and cold hearted bastard and at the same time an impatient child of a man.
Anyway, I aim to keep this blog updated with my hobby progress, thoughts on Iron Xth fiction from BL and general reflections. Next week I'll introduce my army in progress, a bunch of dudes from the Moragul clan. Guys so badass the rest of the Xth thought them borderline outcasts.
