Macromat

Backed the Macromat kickstarter from Tablewar. The kickstarter was super slick with good communication and a short wait for rewards. 

Anyway, have taken some photos of the Iron Xth on the Macromat and think they have never looked so sweet. See below. Seems specially designed colourwise to make a basic paint job look a lot better! 

The Malcador is a Wip and I haven't done my Leviathan as I have to finish off the base, but am pretty happy thus far. 

Malcador Assault

Working on a Malcador Assault tank at the moment. Here's a Wip. Lovely model to make and so far easy to paint. Need to scratch build a demolisher cannon. Just need to find the right bits (probably a lid from my Mrs expensive moisturisers).

Have the base down of black and brass mix plus Leadbelcher and some basic highlights. From here on in its onto more highlights and decals. Can't wait.

Where the hell are we?

So I thought I'd start 2017 with a status on where the Iron Xth are in their 'forging' (I know).

Here's a summary of  Clan Morragul.

There's a lot of flexibility in the Clan with lots of bodies as well as lots of armour. I need to tot it up but I think this is over 3k points. Boom. Here's a breakdown:

Anti-armour:

Anti basic infantry:
- 20 Tactical marines

December Update

Came across this image today on the Iron Hands Facebook group. Think this chap looks pretty nails.

Quick update:

It's now the Xmas holidays and I will have more time for hobby. Over the last few weeks I have been beavering away on my MK3/4 Tacticals/vets & Tribune in the odd moment I have managed to find. They are nearly done and I am pleased with how they look. Photos are below:

Plus -  reinforcements have dropped from orbit in the form of 2 mk3 heavy weapons squads. 1 with lascannon for armour annihilation and 1 with the exotic and shooty volkite culverins. Both under slung for max cool.

Not only that but the man himself Ferrus has suited himself up and unslung his big ass hammer.

Oh, and then there's the Malcador. Yup. Baby super heavy here we come. Feeling extremely positive about the Xth into 2017. Happy New Year all and remember to go easy on the tequila as the flesh is weak.

Work in progress update

Greetings. Here's an update on work in progress on Clan Morragul.

There's a lot going on be it Anvillus shennanigans,  Mark IV power armour, Mark III vets and planning the next wave of purchases. Check out below for more info.

Mark III vets - got some mini magnets from Element Games. Fitting them to some Mark III Istvaan survivors who have tooled themselves up with plasma guns to go power armour hunting. On the days they feel more like firing .50 cal self propelled rockets they can have bolt guns and hang out with my other 10 Mark III dudes forming a 15 man gang of ass kickers.

Mark IV - 10 chaps either as a Tactical squad or a veteran squad. Again,  magnetised gauntlets mean I can choose between bolters and plasma guns or combi weapons. They can wedgie the Gorgons and bag the anvillus for alpha strike execution or cruise in a rhino doing drive bys.

Reinforcements being requisitioned - yes indeed, I plan on purchasing my first super heavy. A Malcador Assault tank. More on the why in my next post. Feeling pretty exited by this bad lad.

Anvillus Incoming!

After a busy few weeks at work I'm back on it with progress on the Dreadclaw. This is going to be the sweet ride of my Gorgons. Not too bad to build, a bit monotonous to paint but super cool on the battlefield. Now thinking of which transfers to apply....

Just moving rooms around in my house which means the Iron Xth are living on a windowsill for a day.
